Have you ever felt frightened or insecure to walk alone on road? Do you feel unsafe on dark streets, underground parking and single flats or apartments? Do you have any idea what to do if you are in any difficult situation or attacked by someone? You fell freezed and numb.

Today’s society is full of evilness like sexual abuse, theft, snatching and kidnappings.  Women are at greater risk. They are continuously judged on basis on clothes and behavior. Some women or girls give up on their dreams just because of their fear of being unsafe in outside world and their parents also clip their wings out of insecurities.

Stop fearing now. It’s time to change and its time to take responsibility of self-protection. One must  know these defensive methods that can help you fight back or flee from difficult situations.

Self defence beings with recognizing danger signs and trying to avoid them. Awareness about your surroundings can help you prevent any mishaps or help you escape from that situation. If you are walking alone on a dark road, you must be alert enough to observe people around you and their body language If you sense danger that will help you generate a suitable response. If possible avoid going on sites that creates feeling of insecurity or fear.

 

BREAKING THE MYTH” I AM WEAK TO FIGHT BACK”

The main hurdle in fighting against the crime is that all people think they cannot fight back as they are weak. All it takes to fight back is courage and smart mind.

Just carrying a pepper spray in your bag or taking self-defence classes does not secure you, using it correctly and at right time is important .

ATTACKING MOST SENSITIVE BODY PARTS

If some one attacks you, try to push them back with all your force before attacker takes control of you. This will also make an impact that you are not an easy target. Try hitting most sensitive parts of attacker body like nose, eyes, ears, groin and knees. Punching or scratching attackers eyes or nose can give you chance to escape.

 

USE COMMON ITEMS FOR DEFENCE

Don’t freeze when attacked, try to defend yourself by using items of your general use. Always carry a pen or some pointing thing in your hands while walking on dark street .

Girls can use hair spray or deodorant for protection. Avoid wearing heels to office when you have to walk back home. Also avoid wearing jewellery in public transportation.

Using pepper spay can be good but use it carefully as it may harm you too.

When attacked in your home, try to run to kitchen as  you can throw utensils, glass items or chili powder.

FOCUS & CHANNELIZE YOUR ENERGY ON SINGLE PART

Use your hard body parts like elbows , knees and hands. Instead of moving all parts in all different directions , try to be focused and hit hard with all your energy on a single sensitive part of attacker. Trying to hit with all body parts will leave you exhausted and you get finally trapped.
